Prototype Welding Services

ABR offer a Research and Development welding service in laser, TIG and micro welding. With 40 years of service to UK industry, our experience is at your disposal.

All materials are catered for including aluminium, copper and titanium. ABR also have experience of laser welding precious metals such as palladium and gold.

We are happy to provide input on product design, material weldability, jigs and fixtures and weld testing. Small welded samples can often be provided free of charge.

Using lasers ABR can weld thin wall or delicate components with minimal heat input and distortion. This can be critical when welding close to electronic circuitry.

ABR can manipulate the laser beam to access restricted areas conventional welding techniques cannot reach. Cracking problems associated with electron beam welding can also be solved by laser welding.

Prototype welding can be extended to the welding of small trial batches often without expensive jig/fixture costs. Larger volume production work is also undertaken.

Orbital welding is available in all welding processes.

As an ISO 9000 accredited company, all welding procedures are documented and any additional reports required can be provided.
